I was once again reliant on public transportation having gotten rid of the rental car which I have used for the past few days. I took the train from Venice to the nearby city of Padova. There are a few places of interest here and I will be spending a night here. The Italian name Padova might not be familiar to some people because most people might be more familiar with the name Padua. As you might expect, this is a historical city in Italy, which is also part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. I took a bus from the train station the city center where I booked a hotel for the night.

Looking around, I can see that the city oozes with old world charm. It isn’t crowded like the city of Venice or Rome and yet it is just thirty minutes away from Venice by train. I think it is a good place to spend the day if you are tired of the crowds that besiege Venice. There are several important structures here in the city and I was hoping to see them. One of the first structures I see is the main basilica which is also one of the reasons why I came here. At the moment, it was rather foggy and it was starting to get dark. I think I need to check in quickly before I go any further.
