Crucifix at Seceda
Crucifix at Seceda

For the past few years, I have visited parts of the Alps and I have come to appreciate their beauty. Although I am only visiting a small part of the Italian Alps, I was already liking that I am seeing. It is a shame that I don’t have a lot of very tall mountains where I live. That is why, I try to visit some mountains when I am abroad. I guess there aren’t a lot of mountain ranges as well known as the Alps. I am on a visit to take photos of the this part of the Italian Alps. I have no illusions of mountain climbing here since I was already having difficultly walking up the snow covered slope in running shoes.

The slope gets a little steeper towards the top but at this point, I was using the wire fence to help pull myself up because traction was very little. I have gained a new found appreciation for mountain climbers, especially for those who climb Everest. No, I don’t even dream of conquering Everest, at the very least, I would like to be able to see it. After a few minutes of pulling myself up, I somehow managed to make it to the top. I guess this was a summer of some sort but I can also see that there are nearby peaks. At least this is the one where they put a crucifix. I have seen a few mountains peaks here in Europe that are punctuated with a crucifix. I don’t know how old this crucifix here is but it is made of wood and it is still here.
