Boarding the Seceda Cable Car
Boarding the Seceda Cable Car

While I was staying for a night in the resort town of Ortisei in the Dolomites, I found out that it is possible to go up the mountain here. I knew that Ortisei is known for winter sports, which meant that there has to be a place where people can ski, not that I would be doing any skiing here but that also means that it will be high up on a mountain, hopefully with a great view! To get up the mountain, there is a cable car system that goes from Ortisei to the mountain known as Seceda. It seems to be one known for skiing and most people who come here in the winter would be looking to go up here.

I was surprised to know that the cable car station wasn’t that far from the hotel. I walked around fifteen minutes to get there and I was surprised to see how busy it already was. I was trying to start early to avoid any people but it seems that people like to start early here. As you might expect, a cable way is basically a string of cable cars which loops from the starting station to the end. People were just continuously boarding the cable car that it was difficult to get one for myself. I wanted the freedom to be able to stand around and take photos inside the cable car. I had to wait a bit to get my own car. I had no idea how long the cable car would take but once I was beyond the town of Ortisei, I became aware of the peace and quiet of the traveling by cable car.
