Chiesa di Santa Maddalena Funes
Chiesa di Santa Maddalena Funes

In an effort to shorten the time I needed to walk up a mountain, I parked at a seemingly unoccupied house with a clear no parking sign. I’m just hoping that there are no people here that I would be able to get away with it. I left the car and continued on. There is still a bit of a way to go, it was all uphill but at least the slope wasn’t very steep. All the time, I can’t help but keep my eyes away from the unfolding scenery. The town was set against the backdrop of the mountains around it and most especially the rugged peaks further back. The peak were high enough that there was still sunlight on it that it was highlighting the mountains even more.

Along the way is a small church called Chiesa di Santa Maddalena. It can be considered as a small stop over as you keep moving up the mountain. The church itself was unremarkable and it wasn’t even open to visitors. Still there is a great view of the town of Funes to be had here that it is still worth making your way up them mountain. There are trails to follow here and that it what I was planning to do. I hope there is enough of daylight to get my photos.
