Eating at Il Ponte Ristorante Pizzeria
Eating at Il Ponte Ristorante Pizzeria

I had a quick look around the hotel area which was near some interesting peaks. If these peaks are anything to go by, then I think I would be having a great time sightseeing the next day. For now, I will be taking it slow. I spend some time relax at the hotel since I was driving for a good part of the day. I won’t be sightseeing this evening so I might as well take it easy. When evening came, I set out looking for a place to eat. As you might expect from a sizable city like this, parking is an issue. While there is some paid parking near the city center, they were very hard to come by.

I went to several parking lots before finding one which isn’t so far. It was paid parking but I don’t think I would spending that much time here. The city center is spread out in a large area and there were shops all around. I wasn’t sure what to eat here but I think that being a famous ski resort town, the prices here would be little more expensive. I ended up going to this pizzeria at one end of town. Il Ponte Ristorante Pizzeria is a small little pizzeria but there were still a lot of customers here which I hope is a good sign. Most of the people here would be tourists as well, so it is not like one place would be more “local” than the others.

While I try to avoid common Italian dishes when I am in Italy, I think I was finally ready for some pizza. I always say that I don’t like the pizza which is overly doughy and that permanently turned me off of pizza. I would qualify that it is pizza of that type which I don’t like however, there is the type which is thinner and thus easier to eat. Being a pizzeria in Italy, I expect the pizza here to be good, even though Il Ponte was just a random place I chose to go to, the pizza was still quite nice. Curiously, they don’t slice their pizza here and they just leave it to you. The pizza was light and easy to eat, not to mention that it was tasty as well.

For dessert, I had another Italian favorite – tiramisu. This one came in a small bottle, and you basically scoop it out. I’m not a dessert person but I thought it was okay, your mileage may vary. I got a bottle of wine with that as well, but since I was driving, I only had a small taste, and took the rest of the bottle back to the hotel with me. It was weird having to hide the bottle in the jacket, because it looks like I stole it. I even had to ask for the cap since I needed to bring it back with me to the hotel. Ultimately, this wasn’t my last pizza for this trip. It would end up being my fallback in case I don’t have any affordable places to eat at.
