It wasn’t too long since I visited the United States that I was once again out on another trip. I can’t visit the United States all the time since it can be quite pricey. So this time, I would go somewhere nearer. I decided to go to a favorite of a lot of people Italy. This wasn’t the first time that I visited Italy and I think because of the time constraints we had then, I didn’t get to appreciate it as much as I thought I would. We did see most of what we wanted to see but maybe I just wasn’t used to traveling with other people anymore.

This time, I got my wish and I was traveling alone. I will be here for several days and hopefully, I would be able to see most of what I want to see. I am going to the northeast region of the country, this is the ones nearer the border with Austria and Germany. I first flew in to the city of Venice just to get in. I spent a night at a guest house and head out the next day. The region I will be visiting isn’t that well connected and I can see that I will end up spending a lot of time waiting for buses or trains, so I decided to rent a car. I’ve never driven in Italy before, hopefully it won’t be too bad.
I got on the motorway out of Venice and headed to the direction of Aquileia where I will start my visit. While on the motorway, I noticed that the road wasn’t as wide as I thought it would be. Maybe I just got spoiled driving in the very wide highways of the United States. It wasn’t scary narrow in Italy. I just thought that it would be wider since it is considered a motorway. Fortunately, Italy isn’t as large as the United States and I only needed to drive a little more than an hour. Although, I was using Google Maps to navigate, the way had proper signage and it was actually easy enough to figure out where to go.
