Canyon Overlook gives visitors an incredible view of the Zion National Park. This is actually just a small part of the park but this one has two canyon walls facing each other. This way, you can see how high up you are. This is usually the place for sunrise catchers but it seems I didn’t have the luck for it. The sky was overcast and the sun wasn’t able to penetrate the clouds to give us that show. It was a shame really since I woke up early to drive and climb up to the viewing area. I wasn’t the only one who was disappointed with the no-show but nothing much we can do but make our way back down.
I love the view from the overlook but I can’t really stay too long. I have barely seen the park and I was going to take this chance to see the rest of the park. By this time of the morning, there was much more light now and I can clearly see the area now. This is in contrast to how it was in the morning where I had to make sure that I know where I was going since it was still quite dark. I would take this chance now to see what I passed through on the way here. I knew there were some cliffs along the way since there were some guardrails at those points. I think I would be able to appreciate it more with better lighting.
