Going to Zion National Park

It feels like it has been a while since I visited the United States for leisure. I would get a chance to go there for meetings but I try to avoid adding a vacation on top of it because it can be pricey to do it. Additionally, the places that I want to visit in the states would be on the other side of the country while I would usually be visiting the East Coast for work. It has been some time since I had a vacation in the states, and hopefully I have saved enough for it. The previous time, I visited the Grand Canyon area and I was absolutely thrilled visiting such a unique part of the world. This time I will be visiting what some may consider to be a part of the larger area where the Grand Canyon is. I have been eyeing visiting this place for a while and this is finally my chance to do so. I’ll be touring Utah’s national parks.

I visited the Grand Canyon in the month of June, and as you know, it was the peak of summer and it was extremely hot. I know that it would be hot but my body wasn’t used to extreme heat and much as I want to enjoy the incredible scenery at the Grand Canyon, it was simply too hot to do that. I would be going earlier in the day and hopefully avoid the worst of the heat. I’m no spring chicken anymore so I don’t go on the strenuous hikes though if time allows, I would definitely go for a shorter hike.

This time around, I get to go in the month of November. The weather is definitely much cooler and in can be downright freezing especially at night. Like my previous visit, I booked a flight to Las Vegas. I was actually surprised to know that it was quite cold when I landed in Vegas. I say this because my first experience there was that it was like an oven. Anyway, I rented a car from the rent-a-car center and I was off on my journey. Though Las Vegas would be the nearest large airport, it is still a good two hours away from the nearest national park. I would think I have more confidence driving in the States now but I still need to be careful. I would be driving away from the big cities most of the times, so I think it should be manageable.
