It was a beautiful morning and we, meaning I, decided to go out of town. We were staying at the beautiful town of Český Krumlov and since there was another UNESCO World Heritage site not too far away from Český Krumlov, I thought that we should take the car and just go there. The place seems to be quite small, so it shouldn’t take too much time to visit. Holašovice is a small village around thirty minutes away from Český Krumlov. Unfortunately, there was no direct public transport to get there and that is where the car comes in. We drove across the beautiful South Bohemian countryside to get to the village.

The village is tiny. For the most part the whole place is composed of the village green and the houses around it. This is a UNESCO World Heritage site and I was trying to make sense of it. We arrived at Holašovice in good time and the skies were very clear as you can see. Parking was a little away from the village center but it is very much walkable. We ended up at the village green since that appeared to be the most interesting place in the village. There was a tiny church dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk, along with some statues. The chapel was built in the middle of the eighteenth century. It looks a little out of place out here on the village green but I think that it what makes it unique.
