We set out early from the big city of Prague. My friends and I will be making our way from Prague all the way down south and officially start our trip there. Yes, it does sound a lot like I planned this all along. Well, I did and I am driving, so they can’t really complain. The drive isn’t actually that far but we are not in a hurry and we wanted to appreciate the journey down south. I was expecting it to be motorway all the way but this wasn’t the case. A lot of times, we would be on smaller roads which you can only go up to 90/kmh. I know that is the speed limit here and I’m not one to drive fast anyway, but it still takes a little getting used to.

Along the way, we thought that we should take a break and look for a place to eat. One of my companions has started complaining about hunger and we needed to find a place to stop have an have lunch. We left the highway and entered a town named Tábor. My friend found this place which seemed to be decently rated and we just went there. Restaurace na Pekné Vyhlídce is a humble restaurant in town and you can really tell that this place is very local since there weren’t any tourists here. In fact, there is no English spoken here. Menu is all in Czech, fortunately, technology allows us to bypass that and we got our food. I ordered what I think is duck confit. While my friends got schnitzel. You can’t really go wrong with that. The food was good. The staff was friendly even though they can’t speak fluent English. They can understand us but they just can’t speak English. Somehow we all made it work. Being a neighborhood shop, it was also affordable. I think this is one of those off the beaten path type of gems that give you that sense of wonder when traveling.
