My friends and I were having loads of fun taking photos of the very photogenic town of Český Krumlov. The town is very wonderfully preserved and it definitely deserves to be one of the most visited places in the Czechia. Like a lot of medieval towns and cities, Český Krumlov also has its own castle. In fact, it is probably one of the very first structures one would see when entering the town. I thought it was unique to see how the castle was sort of built around the town. My guess was that the castle came after the settlement and they had no choice but to build around the town. In effect, the castle with its very high walls serves as the main fortifications of the town.

After we checked into our accommodations, we decided to have a look around town. This is the first time I went with this group of friends, so I don’t know how much walking they would be able to take. You can probably see how much walking I do when I am on my trips. I would need to play it by ear lest I exhaust them when we only just started. Our first destination would of course be the Český Krumlov Castle. It dominates the entire town and we can’t not visit it. Getting there proved a bit of a puzzle since there was a river between the town and the castle. We eventually found the way up to the castle. I am looking forward to this since the castle was built so high up, the views just have to be very good.
