The River Adige is the second longest river in Italy, it starts at the mountains of northern Italy and makes it way to the Adriatic Sea near Venice. Along the way, there were settlements built along its shores and one of them is Verona which that thrived throughout the centuries it has been inhabited. The Adige cuts through the modern city of Verona and I think it is one of the sights to see here in the city. I have checked my bags into the hotel in Verona and got some rest from all that walking around the city. I don’t think I would want to see all things at this point anymore.

When it was almost sundown, I head back out into the city and head back to the riverside. Earlier when I was visiting the Piazza delle Erbe, I was chatting to a stall owner and I was told that it is worth visiting the nearby Castel San Pietro. I passed by earlier and I think it would be great for night shots so I head out just before sunset to see the sun go down. There is a pedestrian bridge named the Ponte Pietra. It is surprisingly old having been built in the first century and it is still in use. To think that I wasn’t even aware of this part of the city. I think it is worth going to as part of a visit to the Castel San Pietro.
