I think I am making good time with my visits of the Palladian sites in the city of Vicenza. It might not be the best way to see the city of Vicenza but I would like to think that this is what Vicenza famous and it would be a shame not to see these sites. It was starting to get dark but I think I got this. There was major spot which I haven’t seen and this is the Palazzo Barbaran da Porto. While this one is probably one of the most well built of the Palladian sites here in the city, this is also known as the home of the Palladio Museum.

The exterior of the building look like a more refined Palladio style building. There are several columns here which are typical of this style. Honestly, I’m not sure what to expect since this seems to be the favored architectural style of the time. Almost all of Palladio’s design feature columns of some kind. From the outside the palace look like any other structure here but it is also worthwhile to note that for one reason or another, the Palazzo Barbaran da Porto was the only one of his works which were completed in its entirety. This was a residence commissioned by Montano Barbarano. He seems to be a wealthy man who owned several properties in the area, including his family.
