A Room Inside the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua
A Room Inside the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua

I was finally at the end of my visit to the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua. The basilica is known for it being the resting place of Saint Anthony of Padua. That is not all, there are also important relics that are housed here some of which are related to their beloved saint. The church turned out to be nice despite me having not so good initial impressions with the chapels in particular proving to be the highlights of the visit. Towards the end of my visit, I noticed a small room which reminded me of the sacristy of a church. I wasn’t sure what place it was but it had priests clothes in it which led me to that conclusion.

However, that isn’t what I was interested in. If anyone looks into this room, their eyes would immediately be drawn towards the ceiling. The ceiling is painted with images religious characters. It reminded me of the traditional view of what heaven would look like. This is not unlike what the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel would look like, except that the Sistine Chapel would looks much better. However, this doesn’t mean that the one here is ugly, far from it. I think it is because this room is actually in active use that is why members of the public can’t just walk in. I was standing outside the entrance of the room just taking photos and admiring the ceiling.
