I had no plans when I decided to stay in the town of Ortisei. I thought that I would stay here for the night and continue driving the following day. However, it turned out that Ortisei was a hub for winter sports and there was a nearby cable car station to go up the mountain. I was all game for that since the view has got to be very good. I got up the mountain with my running shoes and all while everybody else had their ski gear on. I might have a slight interest in trying it, but I’m not sure if this would be a good place to start, lest I go all the way down to Ortisei on skis.

I can see that Seceda in winter isn’t the best place to go for sightseers since the main trail to the summit isn’t even cleared of snow. I was slowly making my way to the top, trying not to slip. There is some rope on the left of the trail to help keep my footing but that is all I have. As I was going further up, I can’t help but appreciate the incredible view. The sky was very clear and visibility was great. Even if I don’t ski, just seeing this makes me know that the effort to come here was worth it.
