Boarding the Seceda Cable Car
Boarding the Seceda Cable Car

I got a good few minutes of total peace and quiet just soaring through the Ortisei countryside. I was on a cable car ride from Ortisei to Seceda, a nearby mountain known for its ski slopes. I was here for the scenery and not the slopes, I just hope there is room for me there. I can’t help by notice that there isn’t too much snow as I slowly ascend the mountain. I wasn’t sure if it is was because it was only December and not too much snow has fallen yet or global warming is so bad that there is already barely any snow even though it was already December. I think it is more because of the slope as well, there wasn’t much flat land for the snow to accumulate on that it was mostly bare.

I had to transfer to another cable car midway and this is where it really starts to go higher up. The cable cars were clearly much larger here, the size of a small bus versus the more personal cable car that I took from Ortisei. This time, I think there was only one car going one direction. There are two cable ways but they dedicate to one car each, so they just go up and down all the time. Since the cars are so much larger, more people can fit inside and fit they did. There were a lot of people waiting to board the car and they were all in full winter sports gear. I must be the only one there who brought a large camera along.
