Beautiful Dome Inside the Topkapi Palace Museum

As I was going through the Topkapi Palace Museum. It was surprised as to how modest the palace buildings looked. They weren’t tall, nor they were especially large either. The palace buildings usually go up to a maximum of three stories and that might even be pushing it. Some of the palace buildings have been turned into exhibition halls for various artifacts from the Ottoman Empire. Inside of these building were quite impressive and reminiscent of the domes of the nearby Hagia Sophia and Sultan Ahmed Mosque. It is no coincidence that they look similar since the sultans appreciate architecture.

I was actually surprised to see this because there wasn’t any indication as to how nice it would be inside. The exterior of the building wasn’t anything special, but they really invested more in the interior of the buildings. These have various exhibits like weapons, clothes and other paraphernalia. I can’t really relate to what I was seeing here since a lot of the names don’t ring a bell for me. I would have to agree that just the artifacts alone were impressive enough. I think it would even be better if I was familiar with the personalities involved.
