Leaving Boracay

It has been a good few days here in the beautiful island of Boracay. It has been a long time since I was last here and I think I lot has changed here. The island was over-developed even back then but I think the camel’s back broke and the island had to be shut down for refurbishment. This was massive news since this was a rather heavy handed act that affected thousands of livelihoods. I think that it was good that this happened during the pandemic so tourist traffic was already down to begin with. So better infrastructure was put up, illegal structures were torn down and the beach was generally cleaned up. The result was a cleaner and hopefully more sustainable Boracay. I do hope that this is not just a flash in the pan.

Riding the Boats Back to Caticlan Airport

Riding the Boats Back to Caticlan Airport

It was time for us to depart Boracay. We will be catching a plane from Caticlan Airport and we would need to leave early to make it. We have arranged transportation to the airport with Henann resorts and they handled everything for us. Just like the day we arrived, we got on their shuttle which brought us back to Cagban Port. From Cagban Port, we will be taking their boats to the main island of Panay where Caticlan is. Everything was all private and it was very comfortable. I know I don’t normally do this kind of thing for myself but having something like this once in a while is great too.
