Frankfurt Financial Center

What started as a nice out of town trip from Frankfurt became a cold and miserable return trip because train services stopped earlier than I expected. I ended up getting back to Frankfurt way later than I expected. I got on a local shuttle bus from Lorsch to Worms and waited more than an hour for the train to Frankfurt. I ended up eating at Burger King for dinner because of lack of choice. I was hoping that there will not be a repeat of this incident because it is really very aggravating to have transportation issues in this weather.

The next morning was still nice and clear but it was still very cold. I decided to have a look around the city of Frankfurt. I know I spent a few nights here but I haven’t really seen much of the city since I was always outside. This time I would want to see more of it. I decided that I would be walking for now. I didn’t realize that the hotel I was staying at is very near the financial center of the city. There were the tall skyscrapers here and most importantly, the euro sign. I have seen this sign on television before but I never bothered to find out where it was. Frankfurt is the home of the European Central Bank and it seems that used to have the headquarters here. However, they have since moved to a different and better location along the river.
