Going to Lorsch Abbey

One of the main points of interest here in the town of Lorsch is old Carolingian Abbey. It is actually quite near the town square, which is probably not a surprise. I don’t know how much the town layout has changed over the years but the current market square is just a stone’s throw away from the old abbey. The market square itself isn’t that big as befits a town the size of Lorsch. You can see however, that this area would be a center of activity in the town. The old town hall is has as well as some statues.

Along the way to the abbey, you will see some cafes that undoubtedly would be nice to hang out it if it wasn’t winter. I don’t really know much tourist traffic comes to Lorsch but looking at the small number of cafes and restaurants in the area I would think not too many people would make it here. At the far end of the path is the abbey itself. I actually thought it would be much larger than what I am seeing since it is called an abbey and they tend to be large. I’m sure there is a lot of history behind all the but I should continue on to the abbey before it gets dark.
