Going to the Köln Chocolate Museum

Köln Chocolate Museum

I didn’t have any particular destination in mind when I was walking along the banks of the Rhine in Köln. The idea was to see whatever is between the cathedral and the next bridge then turn back. I came across the Malakoff Turm which is a 19th century defensive tower, now turned into a pub. There is a lot of festivity around this area and there was a small Christmas market here but I think the most important structure here is not the Malakoff Tower but the modern Köln Chocolate Museum or Schokoladenmuseum Köln.

I initially took notice of the museum building when I saw that there are people on top and I thought it would be good place to take photos. But walking closer, I found out that it was a museum, a chocolate museum. This one seems to be sponsored by the chocolate company Lindt of whose products I would support every now and then. I was a bit surprised by this since I understand that Lindt is a Swiss company but then again, what chocolate company wouldn’t want to associate their name with a chocolate museum. There seems to be quite a lot of people going in the museum so maybe this is one worth visiting.
