Albufeira Marina

I knew that the Algarve is one of the most visited places in Portugal, but I never knew the reason why. I was only finding out now that the Algarve has one of the loveliest coasts in Portugal. It is not surprising that there are a lot of water related activities here in Algarve. We were staying at the town of Albufeira which is also part of Algarve. There are water parks, swimming pools and beaches, which make it a perfect place to visit in the summer. I can’t remember when I last had a proper summer so I was so glad to come here for that.

One thing which is quite common in Algarve is the presence of marinas. Our apartment isn’t by the water so I couldn’t tell, but it seems that a lot of the major towns and cities here have places to park their boats. I am not used to this since I don’t live by sea but some people who can afford to own boats use them. Additionally, boat tours will also depart from the marinas. Some of the marinas can be quite large and they can handle rather large boats. Of course, we are not talking about cruise ships but boats which will be enough to handle fifty passengers. We are at the Albufeira Marina where we would be departing from on our tour of the coast of Algarve, or at least what we paid for.
