The Freemont Street Experience is a full attack on the senses. The brilliant LED canopy, the food along the street even the more adult senses are triggered here in this small stretch of road. It was almost you would forget that you are actually not indoors in a shopping mall but on an actual street. I can imagine how this place can be very nice when the sun is out because of the shade but at night the place just comes alive with all sorts of people. The Fremont Street Experience terminates at the South Las Vegas Boulevard but you can still go on if you want to.

There are still hotels, casinos and restaurants here but they don’t looks as glitzy as the ones at the Fremont Street Experience. I guess it helps a lot if you are there. There are noticeably more restaurants here so I was on the lookout for a place to eat. There was a Downtown Container Park which has a giant mantis on display. It even breathes fire and you can almost feel the heat when the flames come out. Naturally, since this area is no longer covered by the canopy, it is noticeably darker here and there are also less people, at least compared to the Fremont Street Experience. It didn’t feel dangerous though but I thought I should just head back towards my hotel since I didn’t want to keep on walking to who knows where.
