Horseshoe Bend at Page in Arizona

I was surprised to find out that this small town of Page in Arizona has so much to offer. There are apparently several sights to see in this area that it was worth for me to stay a few nights in the hot desert. I started early morning so that it isn’t too hot yet. Although it was still warm, it wasn’t super hot yet which made going around still bearable. I unknowingly saw photos of places in Page and I thought that I should go there. I had no idea that I would actually get to that place in the photo. My first stop is the Horseshoe Bend.

From the name alone, you probably get an idea of what this place is. This is a bend of the Colorado River which passes by the town. The bend is of course that of a horseshoe which gives it its name. I actually passed by the entrance of the Horseshoe Bend when I was coming in to the town but I didn’t notice it. There is parking here but it is paid. Apparently, it is tied to visiting the Horseshoe Bend. You cannot walk up here and just visit the Horseshoe Bend. You still have to pay for it. I think it would just be better to say that there is an entrance fee and it comes with free parking. That way it doesn’t give the impression that you are really after the tourist money.
