Viewing Deck at the Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim was open to visitors. I know I shouldn’t be surprised because I have been to other historic hotels in other US National Parks and the hotels are all open to visitors. I always thought that they would be off limits except for residents but maybe because it is historical that it is open to all. I would expect that the residential area would be really off limits for privacy. There is a queue to get to the restaurant but I do not have time for that. Instead I head to the viewing deck inside the lodge. It has huge windows so visitors can admire the Grand Canyon from the comfort of the lodge.

The Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim is perched on top of a cliff with a great view of the canyon below. However, there is more. If you want fresh air, there is a small viewing deck outside the lodge building and they have seats here. I can see several tourists just chilling on the seats and admiring the view. I would very much like to do that myself just for the experience. However, there is still more to exploring around here and I just want to keep on going.
