View of the Giant’s Causeway

Rugged Coastline of the Giant’s Causeway

I was very glad to know that the Giant’s Causeway isn’t just about going to the iconic hexagonal rock columns that the place is known for but I was happy to know that there are several hiking opportunities here. One of the most common ones here is the short Shepherd’s Path which brings visitors from the Giant’s Causeway, up the mountain just behind it and back to the visitor center. I think it is a great little hike that most visitors would be able to do. While you are at it, you can also admire the view of the coastline and see how much more of the Giant’s Causeway there is to see.

Trail Above the Giant's Causeway

At the top of the stairs, you can catch your breath or not because the view will take your breath away. From here you can see that there is another trail which brings you above the amphitheater, one which I haven’t tried walking yet. I’m sure the view would be spectacular but I am just tagging along here and I don’t have the luxury of my own time. The next time I visit, I would try to see if I can do that other trail since I haven’t done it before. There seems to be a dirt path there but I don’t know how far it goes. For a place as well known as the Giant’s Causeway, I would think that the trail would be well worn by now.
