Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel

Although I didn’t go in the Louvre Museum, I was actually very happy with my visit. It was the first time that I cam here at night and the whole place was lit up. The glass pyramid which is a famous landmark of the Louvre is illuminated like a jewel. That creates that magical feeling when you walk around the area. There are far less people now that it is evening which makes it a move pleasant place to visit. I finally was ready to set out after this. On my way out, I noticed that there is another landmark which I haven’t seen before – Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel.

France seems to be littered with numerous Arc de Triomphe so I wasn’t really surprised to see one here. This is not the famous Arc de Triomphe which is known the world over, that one is officially called the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile. I won’t be going there anymore since I have walked all over the area the whole day. To have a triumphal arch mark the end of my visit to the beautiful city of Paris is a nice coincidence since my first one this trip is an arch in the city of Reims. For sure, this won’t be the last time I would visit Paris. Hopefully the next time I come here, the Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral would have already opened.
