Going to the Pantheon in Paris

The Île de la Cité is packed with historical buildings. I didn’t have an idea of the layout of Paris or where things are but this gave me a better idea. In my first visit, we were just going for place to place and I never got any sense of where things are. We just needed to get to this place and that was all that mattered. This time, I have more time for myself and I got to see more of Paris, albeit still a small chunk of it. I did get a better appreciation of the city as a result. It doesn’t change my opinion of cities but I can see the allure of visiting Paris.

I got to see the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris but it was still under construction because of a massive fire that hit it two years ago. Obviously, I won’t be able to visit it. Perhaps someday I would be able to. For now, I there is no shortage of attractions here in Paris. Not too far away from the cathedral is a name that I thought was only in Rome – Pantheon. I have visited the original Pantheon and I thought it was an amazing structure. I was surprised to know that Paris also has its own Pantheon. There is a bit of a walk to get there but it was still early in the afternoon and I still have time.
