Beautiful Hôtel de Ville in Paris

I’m only realizing how easy it is to find something interesting to see in Paris. I was basically randomly walking in a rather quiet part of Paris when I saw a very beautiful building at the end of a street. Turned out that it wasn’t just any building but it was the Hôtel de Ville or city hall in Paris. I used to think that the name was a brand of hotel but apparently I was very wrong. The Hôtel de Ville in Paris is much larger than any other Hôtel de Ville I have seen elsewhere. This one looks much like a palace with the renaissance architecture that is similar to French royal palaces I have seen elsewhere.

At the time of my visit, there was a small Christmas Market at the square in front of the building. This made it a little difficult to take photos of the building. Moving further out, you can see the real beauty of the building and I think it is really a beautiful structure. I understand it is still a functioning city hall so I am not sure if it is even possible to tour inside. I probably don’t need to go inside to know that it is nice inside as well. Without the Christmas market, I see this place as a popular spot for people to just hang out. Paris is a large city, but they really make sure that people would have a lot of big open spaces.
