Sainte-Chapelle chapel is probably the most amazing chapel I have ever been to. I have seen photos of the place before and I just knew that I had to visit it someday. I was blessed with beautiful clear skies that day and the visit to the chapel was just perfect because the sunlight was coming in through the beautiful stained glass windows which dominate the upper chapel of Sainte-Chapelle. Beautiful as the stained glass windows maybe, it makes it very easy to overlook other details of the chapelle. One would still need to remember that this is a gothic church and there will always be a lot of things to see in a gothic church.

If you manage to peel your eyes away from the beautiful stained glass windows at Sainte-Chapelle, you can still be rewarded with smaller details which you may not notice immediately. The pillars of the church are not that large because they need to be small to allow maximum size for the chapel. The pillars themselves are decorated with small statues presumably of saints. I don’t recognize any of these figures but I think it is safe to say that these are religious figures. Additionally, the walls which are not stained glass windows are also decorated with scenes from the Holy Bible. It may be a little difficult to see them because they are a bit high up. But they are still worth seeing just to see the full beauty of this masterpiece of a chapel.
