Going to Reims

Regional Train for the Champagne Region

Regional Train for the Champagne Region

It has been two years since I last traveled and I think it goes the same for a lot of other people as well. The coronavirus pandemic put a halt to any travel all over the world and it is only just recently starting to open up. I took advantage of this to go to France for a quick vacation. It took me an hour to get out of the airport because immigration was just packed. This caused me to miss a train which I was hoping to catch if I get out of the airport early. Unfortunately, I missed it and I had to wait another hour for the next train. Fortunately for me, the airport is well connected and I got on a TGV train to eastern France.

I’m no stranger to French trains but I had to jog my memory because it has been a while since I took them. I suddenly remembered that I don’t know any French and had to get accustomed to this. Most French would understand English but they won’t assume that you speak English first. With the help of some passengers, I managed to find my seat. It was rather cramped because I had my backpack with me. It was quite troublesome to set it down then carry it again. So I would just sit with the backpack behind me and it didn’t seem that I would be bothering anyone. It didn’t take that long anyway since I will be transferring trains. The beauty of the TGV is that it is very fast so it didn’t take long for me to reach the transfer station.
