Baltimore Harbor

I finally arrived at my last destination for the day. I have traveled a lot this day across West Cork and I think I will stop here before I go to where the bed and breakfast is. The village of Baltimore is probably best known for its beautiful harbor. Indeed it seems that life in the village of Baltimore is centered around the harbor. Most of the establishments are around this part of the village. There are hotels and restaurants here, all overlooking the harbor. The harbor itself as you might expect is filled with numerous boats. It seems that sailing is a popular activity here in Cork and Baltimore is no exception.

If you, like me, are not rich enough to own your own sailing boat, you can still get on a boat here. There are boats for hire here for various destinations. There are a number of islands which can be visited from Baltimore. I can already see that people are boarding a ship to go to a neighboring island. If I have a few days here, I would probably have wanted to have a look as well. A few of the more well known islands here are Sherkin Island, Cape Clear and Heir Island. I believe all of these islands are included in my list but I know I won’t be able to visit them. I would probably need to schedule another visit to see these islands.
