The sun was going down, I was still at the Skelling Ring. I was finishing it up and I knew I had to hurry. I still have to head back to the town of Killarney. I would not like to be driving at night in an unfamiliar place. I know the roads here are quite good so there is nothing really I need to worry about but I would prefer that I don’t drive in the dark. I still have to cover half the Ring of Kerry on the way back to Killarney. I will not be stopping along the way anymore. It is already late in the day and I won’t be able to get nice photos anyway. Most of the nice places here I have already passed or visited so there was no really need to stop. The Skellig Ring was new for me so I felt I needed to go visit at least once.

Fortunately, it only takes over an hour to get back so I don’t really have to drive very far. I soon arrived back in Killarney just in time for dinner. I left the car in the hotel and walked to High Street for some dinner. I ended up picking this fancy looking place called The Laurel’s Pub. It seems to be quite full which I thought was a good sign. I still managed to get a seat inside the restaurant area. There was a bar area but I thought it was too noisy for me. The restaurant area was much more peaceful. I got myself some lamb shank which was quite tasty. The meat was very tender and it was falling off the bone. To push it all down I some local Killarney Beer. Now, I don’t know much about beer but I just wanted something which is local. It was a long day for me but it was very fulfilling as I was able to visit a lot of places which I haven’t been to the first time I visited county Kerry. This trip cemented my idea that county Kerry is really one most beautiful counties in Ireland.
