The Jardin Majorelle is a surprisingly large botanical garden in the heart of Marrakesh. It was owned by the famous fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. The garden is a nice oasis in the urban jungle of Marrakesh. Despite the large numbers of people coming here, it is still possible to find some peace and quiet here. One thing I noticed was that it was mostly garden here. There are a few fountains within the premises but they weren’t really that impressive. As I was going through the garden, I noticed that there was a large structure in the garden. It was looked more like a large house. I don’t know if this was where the occupants lived but it is no longer a residence now.

According to the map it is a supposed to be a Berber Museum. The Berbers are the natives of this part of Morocco. It seems to be the dominant native culture in Morocco and it is probably why there are a lot of museums about it. This one doesn’t look like a museum at all. The building it painted blue reminiscent of the houses in Chefchauoen though this particular house is much more modern. A lot of people seem to taking photos with the house. I admit that it is quite attractive. The place didn’t seem to open at least from the front. I wasn’t sure if the museum was even open though I did see signs pointing to the Berber Museum.
