I was very happy with my visit to Bowman Lake. I probably got the nicest photos of the trip there. There was still another lake not too far away from Bowman Lake – Kintla Lake, but that was still an hour away from Bowman. I don’t think I had the time to go there which was unfortunate. The poor road conditions really took a lot of time away from the visit. And I don’t want to be caught out in the middle of nowhere in the dark. It is probably one thing to be driving on a highway in the dark. But it would be another thing to be driving in some backroad in the dark. I decided to call it a day and head back to town.

By the time I got back to town, it was already almost dinner time. I thought that I might as well head to Whitefish and find a place to see. I saw this place named Piggyback Barbeque and it intrigued me. Obviously this is a barbeque place but with pork. You get a selection of what kind of pork barbeque you want and you could say that this was a dietician’s nightmare. I had their signature barbequeu, some pulled pork and nice rack of ribs. The servings was massive and I was fearing that I woiuldn’t be able to finish it all. All the meat was cooked properly and it was all tender and easy to eat. Of course, it won’t be a barbeque if it didn’t have barbeque sauce. All you needed to do is slather it on top of the meat.

If you have been on this website for long, you will probably know by now that I have a large appetite. So needless to say that I managed to clean up the plates. I would have wanted to try some of their local beer but I was driving. The staff was nice and friendly. It seems like they have been there there for a long time. Some of the customers were also repeat customers which indicates that the place is quite well known. I don’t blame them for coming back. In my whole time here in this part of Montana, this would probably be the best meal I had. It was worth driving all the way from West Glacier to Whitefish. When I get back to the cabin, the owner would acknowledge that Piggyback Barbeque is indeed one of the places to eat here.
