Northern Lights Saloon and Cafe

After a very bumpy drive to the region of North Fork in Glacier, I managed to arrive at the community of Polebridge. It was cloudy and there was heavy rain the previous night. This left the roads here a muddy mess. It was especially bad at Polebridge as my shoes were caked in mud from all the walking. Anyway, I knew that Polebridge was a small community but I didn’t expect it to be this small. The main structures here basically the Polebridge Mercantile and Bakery and of course the saloon. Every village needs to have a saloon and Polebridge has the Northern Lights Saloon and Cafe.

The Northern Lights Saloon and Cafe is basically a log cabin. There are seats outside the saloon which makes it great in the summer months. At this point in the season the saloon is already closed. The saloon has the western feel with at gate proclaiming that it is a saloon. The gate is also adorned with antlers. You can almost imagine this place filled with cowboys but they are nowhere to be found here. It seems to be more of a place for the community to gather for events. And looking at the number of houses here, it doesn seem this place would be perfect for it. I would have loved to see how the saloon looks like from the inside but I would have to try some other time.
