Beautiful Beach at Glosh

The Belmullet Peninsula seems to have a lot to offer for such a small place. I guess you can say this for a lot of places in Ireland. It has a rugged coast so you can be sure that there would always be something interesting here. Some cliffs here. Or a pretty beach there. There seems to be something every turn. As I was making my way out of Saint Deirbhile Holy Well. I noticed this very brightly lit beach in the distance. I wasn’t really sure where it was but there was a road going there and I thought to drop by. Usually, I would prefer it if there was a bit of high ground on either end of the beach but this area was relatively flat or there would have been opportunities for great overlooking shots.

Glosh Beach

I wasn’t sure what the name of the beach is but looking at Google Maps, it seems to be labelled as Glosh Beach. The beach here is practically deserted. This was a long stretch for fine beach. Alas, the waters here are too cold for swimming or it would have been a perfect tropical paradise. Perhaps in the summer where it isn’t that cold. It is amazing to be able to find places like this where you seem to be the only person exploring the place. This is not a place which is frequented by tourists and it doesn’t even have a proper sign for the it. I guess that is what makes exploring Ireland a joy.
