Going to Beitou Thermal Valley 北投地热谷

Although I have been to Taipei in a previous trip, I actually hardly remember anything about the place. I remember a shopping center we went to a long time ago, I don’t even know if it is still there. I’m pretty sure that there will be a commercial center here in Taipei but would it be the same as what it was before? In the meantime, I would try to visit other places in Taipei which I have never been too. One of these places is the Beitou Thermal Valley. Now, the name itself it inspires some wild images of this place and I was actually excited to see this place.

I was actually surprised to know that Beitou is actually within the city. While the main metro line doesn’t go straight to Beitou. There is a transfer station where you can switch trains to a shorter line which brings you directly to Beitou. The train was actually quite amusing since the interiors of the train were built with hot springs in mind. There some “hot tubs” in the train just to remind you where you are going. I was glad they built this spur so it would be very convenient for tourists to come here. Though a simple shuttle service might have sufficed.
