We were whisked off to another sight in Sintra by our tour guide Antonio. He wanted us to see as many places as possible. Our next sight is the Seteais Palace. This is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage site list but I don’t see anything interesting there. The Seteais Palace is another mansion which was built on top of hill in Sintra. The Dutch consul at that time decided to build a house here in Sintra. He chose a nice spot which has a part overlooking the nearby area. It is at this spot where our tour guide brought us.

There was a garden directly below the viewpoint where you can see a labyrinth garden. There was no way for us to reach the garden, thought it would have been nice to play around in it. Perhaps most prominently displayed here is an arch which was built in honor of the visit of the king. It wasn’t that large either in fact, it was quite thin. You’d think that it was fake since there was nothing behind it. In the end it is just an arch which leads visitors to the viewpoint. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the view. We took a few photos and left the place. I was later told that it is now a hotel, which probably explains why we weren’t able to access the other parts of the estate.
