Walking Along the Water in Buncrana

Walking Along the Water in Buncrana

The town of Buncrana is my next stop in my tour of the Inishown 100, a 100 mile driving route around the Inishowen peninsula in county Donegal. I was lucky the weather was very good that day. It is these days that I would think that Ireland is probably one of the most beautiful places on earth. The town of Buncrana is one the largest, if not the largest town in the Inishowen Peninsula. That is immediately clear to me because I ran into some traffic just as I ws entering the town. Like most of the towns and villages along the Inishowen 100, Buncrana is also by the water. It happens to have access to a nice beach, which would be perfect on a warm summer day.

The town of Buncrana also tries to make the most of its location. There is a nice walking path by the water. It wasn’t at the beach itself but it was a proper walking path. I wasn’t sure how far it extends but it seems to quite substantial. I think this would be a perfect place for people go jogging in the morning or just a stroll by the water. The lovely weather day no doubt helped improve my image of Buncrana as a nice place to live in. It seems that by following the walking path it would also lead you to other sights within the town.
