Inside the Notre Dame Church in Bordeaux

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Notre Dame Church in Bordeaux, it was the only baroque church that I have see this entire trip. I find baroque churches very beautiful though sometimes impractically so. The outside of the Notre Dame church is probably par for the course when it comes to baroque churches. With a facade like this, I would certainly want to see how it looks like inside. Fortunately, the church was open. It was rather disappointing inside. It was expecting more of the beautiful baroque design which can be seen from the outside but the inside of the church didn’t match what is outside.

While the inside of the church may not have the elaborate sculptures that is seen outside. It makes up for it in paintings. The ceiling of the church is covered in them. The church also has multiple chapels which go around the building. Each of the chapel’s ceiling are painted as well. While it may not be that baroque inside, I thought it was still a nice church overall. Even if this place seemed to be near the center, it seemed to be in a rather isolated and quiet part of town. This church is also used for performances religious or otherwise.
