It was my last night in the city of Toulouse and I thought I enjoyed it more than I expected. It was really a pleasant surprise to be discovering little things here and there in the city. I checked out the following day to catch a train to my next and last destination for this holiday – Bordeaux. Now, the only thing I know about Bordeaux is that the name is synonymous to wine. I think I needed to come here to know more about the place. It was raining that morning in Toulouse when I left and I was hoping that the weather would be much better when I arrive in Bordeaux.

Turns out that Bordeaux was much further away than I thought. The high speed train would take two hours to get to Bordeaux. It was kind of interesting to know that the River Garonne which I explored in Toulouse ends in Bordeaux where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. In this way, I think these places are quite connected. This time around, the hotel where I would be staying at it in the city center but it is not very near the train station where I got off from. There was a bit of confusion as to what bus or train I should be taking here. There is no subway here but they do have a tram way.

I took the tram to somewhere near the hotel and just tried to find the hotel from there. It wasn’t difficult to find but I was surprised to see how small that hotel was. The sign for Hôtel de France Bordeaux, was high up, presumably to make it easier to see. I got a room for one and I was surprised to see how small the room was. I guess I have been spoiled for the past few days that I managed to get a spacious room. This time, it was a small room for one. There was a window which overlooks the street but there is nothing interesting to see. Still, it seems like it is in a good location and I enjoyed my stay there.
