Walking Along the Streets of Toulouse

The city center of Toulouse is pleasant place to walk around. Large parts of the center has been turned into pedestrian shopping streets so it was great to just walk around and look at stuff. I was surprised that there were any souvenir shops here but maybe Toulouse doesn’t cater to that crowd. Instead, it is a place for shopping and eating. There were a lot of branded name shops here and some local ones which I never heard of. It was actually approaching lunch time, so I thought I better start looking for food.

I basically got lost walking around the city center but wasn’t a bit deal since there was so much to see anyway. The city center didn’t feel like a museum town and yet the buildings here feel like there were built hundreds of years ago. It amazing how they managed to keep this place intact. I guess that is due to the maturity of the government in knowing to preserve these places. Toulouse does feel large enough to warrant taller buildings but strict zoning laws prevent any eyesores from rising. I think I have already seen much of the historical stuff here and I think I should just take it easy for the rest of the day.
