Exploring Albi Town Center

Shopping at the Streets of Albi

My spirit has been thoroughly dampened by the rain and I didn’t want to walk very far anymore for fear of ending up at a place which doesn’t have shelter from the rain. I decided to just walk around the town center of Albi. The town of Albi is a pretty town where much of the buildings here are preserved. On top of that, they are made of brick making it more attractive that a drab gray. The town center is well preserved and it is a pleasure to walk around in. There were lots of shops to keep you busy and surprisingly, there weren’t a lot of souvenir shops. Perhaps Albi isn’t really one of those places which are frequented by mass tourism. This is good in a way, since it helps to keep the place as peaceful as it was before.

Walking Along the Streets of Albi

There isn’t a clearly defined main street, so I ended up walking along every street that I can see. That is probably how I ended up finding the Collegiate College of Saint Salvi. I think a lot of these types of places are slowly being lost in the name of progress. Fortunately, this is not the case in Europe and I think it has been like this for a long time. I didn’t know if they planned for this but keeping things the way they are turned out to be big money for the town.
