Marché les Halles d’Avignon

I probably had it with all these historical buildings in Avignon. The city of Avignon is remarkably well preserved that there are a lot of old structures here which are worth visiting. I probably already visited most of the most important ones so I think I would just take it easy from now on. Not all of the places here in Avignon are old, some of them are quite new. One of these interesting places is Marché les Halles d’Avignon. This is basically a produce market. Fresh produce will be sold in this market which probably makes this place even more interesting. The exterior of the building is obviously modern. The facade of the market is covered in plants much like modern eco-friendly buildings are designed.

However, it is actually what is inside that is more interesting. I don’t think I have been to a market in France before so I was curious to see what they have. I was not surprised to know that there are eating places inside the market. In fact, I think it was a great idea since it would be nice to have the very fresh ingredients prepared as a meal. There were several eating places here and I was a bit sorry I never got around to eat here. I probably won’t know what to eat here anyway. There were numerous shops selling cooking ingredients, a lot of which I wasn’t really familiar with. I wasn’t familiar with a lot of French food so I don’t know which ones would be particular to them. It does make for lovely photos.
