Le Bigouden Creperie

I was enjoying my visit to Arles and I allocated an entire day for me to go around the ancient city. There are a lot of Roman ruins here and it would be a shame not to go see them since everything is almost walking distance of each other. All the walking made me hungry. I was already at the city center and I think finding a place to eat should not be that difficult. I actually went through several restaurants and found that they still weren’t open or were full. It seems that I would be in for a challenge once again. I walked away from the city center hoping that there would be a nice place to eat in. I wasn’t planning to have a big meal since it can be quite expensive to eat out in France.

I ended up at this place called Le Bigouden, which turned out to be a creperie. While I don’t dislike crepes, I didn’t like the idea of having that for lunch. As always, I wanted something more substantial. Fortunately, they serve stuff other than crepes for lunch. What’s more their prices are reasonable. I ended up having grilled duck which incredibly felt more like eating a steak than duck. This seems to be a common dish in France but it always surprises how they can turn the duck into something like steak. My duck wasn’t bloody unlike one time I ate a similar dish elsewhere. This seems to be cooked just right. The creperie is right outside the L’espace Van Gogh, so one can go explore it after eating.
