Apartment in Old Town of Warsaw

I didn’t realize that the Old Town of Warsaw was that far from the main train station. I didn’t know how to get to the old town using public transport so I went by the only way I knew – walking. It was a good thirty minute walk. It was made a little more challenging because of my large backpack and the fact that it was raining. I didn’t really have much choice here but to push on. Fortunately, the gift of European data roaming has come true, I didn’t have to worry about getting charged an arm and a leg because I used data outside the country. Google maps was a godsend to help me get to my destination.

I managed to find the address but it took my a while to check in since the room wasn’t ready yet. I walked around for thirty minutes before being let in. I will only be spending a night here since I will be moving to different location the next day. I will be coming back to Warsaw this trip but I thought it would be better if I go to the further location first before spending more time here in the city.

The apartment seemed to be one of those apartments which are specifically let out for tourists. The lady manages several units here and judging from how often she is on the phone, business must be doing well. I was given the keys to the apartment which happens to be quite large. It has a kitchen in case I needed to cook something. Curiously enough, the bedroom also seems to be the sitting room. It was in a large room which has a sofa and two single beds. I thought the bed was a a bit too small for me. Or maybe I just got used to having a double bed.

I immediately noticed how warm the room was, much too warm that I was already getting dizzy from the heat. I opened the windows to let some of the freezing air in, and hopefully I can regulate the temperature that way. The bathroom was rather small though. The bathtub in particular was interesting to use. There was a massive water tank above the tub so one needs to be very careful in using the bathtub. I never found other issues with the apartment. The location was superb as it was only on a stone’s throw away from the central square.
