Going to Tralee

It was already mid-afternoon and I think I have visited most of the places here in Valentia Island. It was a pretty interesting visit as there is quite a lot of history associated with this island. The first trans-Atlantic cable landed here in Valentia Island. I think there is a place to see that but I didn’t manage to find it. The tetrapod trackways were incredibly interesting to know. It is actually good that Valentia Island can also stand up on its own against Skellig Michael. In fact, I think Valentia Island is also a unique destination on its own. I have to leave to continue on my journey, but I was glad to have visited Valentia Island.

My next destination is the town of Tralee which is still in County Kerry. Tralee is known as a tourist town and it probably best known for the annual Rose of Tralee pageant. I don’t have a real purpose to visiting the town of Tralee itself. I thought it is actually its own destination that would be better left for a different time. I will only be spending the night here so I just wanted to take a little time off to rest. I do have a very good friend who lives here but I think a meeting is not in the cards this time. The road to Tralee was still quite scenic. There were a few stopovers along the way but I was too tired to stop and take photos. It was still a good hour away from the town. I already had arranged for accommodation in Tralee so I didn’t have to worry about sleeping in the car. I do have to make it in time since my host is waiting for me.
