I don’t really know what to expect to see here in Valentia Island. I was told that it was an interesting island. I crossed the bridge to the island to get there. I remember that the village of Cahersiveen has a ferry service to bring vehicles to the island, but I don’t know how business was affected by the bridge. From my knowledge, the ferry service was still active. I think the cost of going to Portmagee to cross the bridge was not worth it. Anyway, I was only following the signs here at Valentia Island. I decided to explore the island clockwise starting from the bridge.

The first stop was a view point which you can see a great view of the nearby cliffs. According to Google Maps, this place is Foilhommerum Bay. This place has a typical cliffs which are very common in coastal Ireland. However, seeing yet another cliff never ceases to amaze me. What I do notice here is that the winds are very powerful here. This might become a problem for me later on as the winds pick up as the afternoon progresses. There seems to be a place to park the car. People can then proceed on foot to Bray head at the end of the island. However, I wasn’t in the mood to do some hillwalking in this kind of weather. I decided to leave it for another day.
