Portmagee

Portmagee Village

Portmagee Village

I didn’t know at the time, but the village of Cahersiveen seemed to be void of any interesting places. There was a pub at the end of the road near the port but I wasn’t interested in that kind of food. Had I known about it, I could have reached the actual town of Cahersiveen had I continued driving down the main road following the Ring of Kerry. Oh well, I decided to give the village of Portmagee a try. Portmagee is a major tourist area and I assumed that there would have been more choices there than here.

I actually already passed the turn to Portmagee, it wasn’t that far from the bed and breakfast but you would still need a car for this to get there. It is a shame they don’t have public transport here but the idea of driving around without the need to follow a schedule is more appealing. I also need to get to Portmagee to secure my spot since I couldn’t get a confirmation online. I was told to try showing up and see what happens. The village of Portmagee is also a one street village. There were a few restaurants here. I didn’t get any slots this time as well, I was told to turn up the next day to see if there will be any cancellations. I’m crossing my fingers.
